Maybe someone just wasn't paying attention to what is happening on Capitol Hill, but the fact is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is the person blocking a vote on the President's Jobs Bill. In fact, this week Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican Leader in the Senate said the President deserves a vote on his jobs bill, so let's vote on it right now. Harry Reid called it a political stunt, and said no.
Now the President says the Senate will vote on his jobs bill next week. But the bill that Harry Reid says they are going to vote on is one calling for a 5% surtax on millionaires, not the President's bill. That may seem like something that most Americans would favor, but the truth is most Americans don't favor increasing taxes on anyone during this economic crisis.
The President would like to paint this as a situation where Republicans are against what the majority of Americans want. That's simply not true. Most of us recognize that the American dream is still alive, and each person has a chance, with hard work and innovation, to achieve that dream. We also know that we won't achieve that dream by coveting what our neighbors have accomplished.
Candidate Obama needs to get back to Washington, act as the President and get to work with leaders in Congress to really put the facts out there for the American people to make up their own minds.
Facts can be slippery things, but trying to change them to suit a political agenda never works. Americans are too smart for that.

About us
- MHPPT
- Thank you Mike and Janet Huckabee for all your prayers, encouragement, hard work, and commitment to unify and make our country the strongest, safest, best place to live and raise our families! We pray GOD's richest blessings upon you! Please join with us in keeping a prayer focus for Mike & Janet Huckabee and the direction he will go in. Also, let's join Mike as he reads a chapter of Proverbs for each day. (Jan. 30 would be Proverbs 30). I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone; for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 Thanks for praying!
Point to ponder by Randy Davis
"Determination is looking at insurmountable obstacles as opportunities to allow God's supernatural intervention. When God is about to do something great, He starts with a difficulty. When He is about to do something truly magnificent, He starts with an impossibility. Reaching a goal requires more than skill it requires determination. This means rejecting distractions like discouragement and doubt."— Randy Davis
Important Prayer Focus
We pray that America can regain honor, integrity and truth of character in it's leadership and therefore become once again the Shining City on a Hill, who is once again Freedom's greatest hope. We turn to the LORD GOD for our rescue and our salvation, our wisdom, direction, protection and provision.
We pray that GOD anoints and empowers Mike Huckabee as He did King David of Israel, that no weapon formed against him will succeed. We pray that GOD prepares the weapons of Mike's warfare in the same way that GOD prepared five smooth stones for the shepherd boy David. We pray that when Mike goes out to lead a Gideon’s army of the living GOD in the name of the LORD ALMIGHTY that he arises victorious in his spiritual battles.
As David's sling slew Goliath, we pray that Mike triumphs over his adversaries, spiritual and political, so that all will know that it is not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of Hosts. We praise GOD that He has placed Mike Huckabee in this nation as an ambassador of CHRIST's love and hope.
We lift Governor Huckabee and his family up to our LORD GOD for wisdom in decision making. We pray that the HOLY SPIRIT would give Mike clarity in communication. We pray for Gov. Huckabee, that he would always hear clearly the direction that the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY would have him follow. We pray that abundant provision would flow through to Governor Huckabee in cash, staff & volunteers, as well as positive media coverage.
We pray blessings upon Janet Huckabee. We praise GOD for her sacrifice and support of Mike as he gives his time working to make our country the best it can be. We pray that Mike's personal finances will multiply and that he has provision to meet all needs for himself and his family. We pray special peace, comfort, strength, and protection upon her, their family, pets and home.
Thank You LORD for travel mercies, safety, and protection for Mike and his family as he travels around our nation to speak, encourage, and enlist others to support solid conservative candidates and issues.

"Perhaps Now is the Time"
by Randy Davis on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 10:45pm
I would favor Governor Mike Huckabee by a mile over anyone else in the GOP race. I hear from people all over the nation hoping he will reconsider getting back in. When he said "my heart says no" he clearly stipulated...."for now."
...
He is in a class of his own and would be the immediate adult on the debate stage with more experience, wisdom, and class than everyone else combined. His communication skills would even be envied by Ronald Reagan.
He also has the uncanny ability to communicate the conservative message without being obstinate and polarizing. He would garner votes from Independents, women, and minorities like no other conservative. And yes, he would beat Obama and he would beat him badly- like "in the landslide of the century."
Still—this is a decision for him to make. I know of no evidence that he IS re-considering, but with the clock running out— I can understand supporters wondering what he may now be thinking, especially since he implied he would perhaps be open to taking another look at the field in "the fall" to see if there was a clear frontrunner and/or if there was a strong candidate to carry the fiscal and social conservative message all the way to the White House. There isn't. Instead there is a gaping hole the size of the Grand Canyon on steroids, especially with the definitive "no" by Chris Christie. [AW:adding the Palin no as well]
He has downplayed the rumors he was "reconsidering"- but still did not categorically say "no." If the GOP leadership wants an epic landslide in 2012, perhaps now is the time to set up camp on his doorstep.

A prayer, exhortation and encouragement for Governor Huckabee
Will GOD redirect you Governor Huckabee? I don't know but I am convinced that the amount of people praying for you Governor Huckabee and the depth of agreement on the hope that you would make the choice to enter the 2012 race was from the LORD GOD to our spirits.
"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader."—John Q. Adams
Governor Huckabee, you have inspired us to go and be the somebodies and do the somethings.
You encouraged us by example to seek out revelation and direction: "I have long depended on Scripture not only as a refuge but also for direction. Since I was 18 I've read a chapter in Proverbs every morning, getting through the whole book each month. For me, that's a source of daily inspiration and guidance. I really believe most good, sound management decisions can be gleaned from the principles you'll find in the book of Proverbs.”
You admonished us, "These are the days of Elijah! How long will we falter? We've got to say we are going to live our lives as unto to the LORD! These are the days of Elijah!"
You have taught us that character makes a difference. "Character is the issue, and your character makes the difference every day—in the work you do, the candidates you vote for, the people who look to you for leadership. My hope is... that you will live your faith proudly and support and uplift fellow Christians as we work together to build GOD’s kingdom."
You instilled in us "that doing the right thing is precisely what America must doing order to achieve the goals that conservatives (actually everyone) want—lower taxes, less government, safer streets and neighborhoods, prosperous businesses, good jobs, good schools, access to affordable health care, secure borders, strong marriages and families, growing productivity, and personal liberties." You exhorted us with "My hope and prayer is that you'll commit to doing your part to change America's future by deciding that whatever others choose to do, you will Do the Right Thing."
You gave us the true meaning of the small but powerfully inspiring word "hope," pointing out that progress for our country cannot
happen with the continued bipartisan rift dividing it.
You highlighted for us 12 “Stops” to restoring America’s greatness. The stops refer to things that we must stop doing; stop “being cynical,” stop “abusing our planet,” stop “robbing the taxpayers,” stop “the heat and turn on the light for hot issues,” stop “the loss of America’s prestige at home and abroad,” and–my favorite–stop “being a selfish citizen,” and offered “12 Action Steps” that set specific standards we ought to hold our political leaders accountable to and specific principles by which we ought to be governed.
You tapped into the fundamental core of every American, confronting matters closest at hand with the call for a critical change in perspective and a clear plan of action that shows what we can become as a truly indivisible nation.
You told us about Twelve Things We really need from Washington (and a Trillion we Don't). You have us nodding in agreement with these twelve essential truths, whether we were Republican, an Independent, or an open-minded Democrat. "We need a simple government. Don't get me wrong; I know that many of the nation's problems are highly complex. But I also know the governing principles that can solve them, if we work together, are simple."
You showed us that "The kind of leader we will be, is tied directly to what kind of follower we were for those who blazed the trail before us. Someone is likely following in our footsteps in the same way, we're following others. One of the reasons we're commanded to congregate in mutual fellowship is so we can gain strength from those with whom we fly. They in turn can gain strength from us. When we are weary and lag behind, the encouragement of others becomes like the honking of the geese, cheering us on toward the next step, the next day, the next challenge."
You interceded for us, "I pray that GOD will raise up spiritual leaders who will not let this nation fall. Not a partisan battle, but a battle against good & evil. There are things that are right and things that are wrong. There are some things that are Holy."
You can help "us put aside our differences, tone down the partisan rancor, and return to the simple principles of the Founding Fathers: liberty, justice, personal freedom, and civic virtue." And you "can help us tackle even the most seemingly complicated of today's problems."
GOD has used you to teach, inspire, encourage, and empower us to go the extra mile, dream the impossible and lift others up to reach for the stars. To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
Is this the season GOD is calling you to lead us by running for president 2012? What, then, shall we say in response to this? If GOD is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31
By the way, I learned most of this from these books:

Is Huckabee Reconsidering?
There’s been some intriguing chatter going around that former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee might be reconsidering his decision not to run for President. Huckabee stunned the political world in May when he announced he wouldn’t enter the 2012 race. After all he was leading most of the national polls, was the clear frontrunner in Iowa, dominated the field across the southern states (the bedrock of the GOP), and even led the polls in states like New Jersey, Maine, and Pennsylvania. It seemed nearly everything was lined up for Huckabee to take the race by storm, but his heart said “no,” quite a surprise coming from the front-runner of the Republican field.
Yet now it appears Huckabee may be rethinking that decision. The media’s chosen front-runners: Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, have stumbled, floundered, or failed to ignite any passion or enthusiasm from the Party’s base. If the press is so adamant to call this a two-man race, it seems not many fans are cheering in the stands or waiting at the finish line. There was some speculation that NJ Governor Chris Christie might enter the race as well, but he reaffirmed his previous statements that he wouldn’t be throwing his hat into the ring.
All this uncertainty and dissatisfaction leaves quite an opening for a Huckabee reemergence. The American electorate is looking for leadership, not politics. Courage, not cowardice. Vision, not focus groups. Principles, not posturing. We need a real leader with bold ideas, and one who has the wisdom to govern, not just run a campaign. When I watched the 2008 Presidential race, Mike Huckabee showed himself to be that kind of leader, one the country desperately needs today. His candid, forthright, and amiable approach would be a welcome addition to the current field, which frankly could use breath of fresh air and originality. While his decision remains to be seen, I for one am hoping he reconsiders.
Perhaps this time, his heart will say “go.”

America Needs a David, a Joseph and a Daniel. Have We Found One?
The LORD has used Governor Huckabee as an Ambassador of CHRIST in a world of false hope and change for the worse. His encouraging and uplifting sagacious attitudes have inspired a despairing and desperate people to go out and be the somebodies and do the somethings needed to bring our nation back to being that Shining City on a Hill and Freedom's Greatest Hope. His messages given at First Baptist Dallas earlier this year as well as for the Rediscovering GOD in America Pastors Conference, and then coupled with his message at Cornerstone in Nashville on September 11 and many other times he have shared the words our LORD had laid on his heart, have shown where our real Hope lies, where our foundation, center of gravity, strength, and purpose is: "I would like think that maybe there is time in this country that at least the children who follow JESUS would be willing to say the real answer to America's ills is not political reform, but rather it's personal repentance and individual revival of spirit."—Mike Huckabee
Thank you Governor Huckabee! for being the David and the Joseph and the Daniel in our lives, that helps to redirect our focus back where it needs to be: solely on CHRIST our Solid Rock!
Right now there seems to be now one who is really telling this message but Governor Huckabee. The rest of the bunch who call themselves "Republican" candidates are just as he said, in a dog fight to see who can be top dog. But here is a message that keeps coming back to me:
"I think you will agree with me that in this critical time in our nation's history, it is more imperative than ever that we have men like Mike Huckabee in the public arena. Men who have skilled leadership, but more importantly, possess an unwavering commitment to the LORD JESUS CHRIST."
—Pastor Robert Jeffress, First Baptist Dallas
The LORD has told us we are to daily, by the mercies of GOD, to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to GOD. Abraham was given a promise from the LORD, that he would be the father of many nations. When he went out on his own he created Ishmael, the enemy of the LORD's people. But when he allowed the LORD to work, Isaac was born. Then Abraham did his most obedient act, in offering up Isaac on the alter to the LORD and because of the act of obedience, Abraham was re-directed and the LORD provided a ram for the sacrifice and Abraham was called the friend of GOD. I believe Governor Huckabee have been given his Isaac moment and has been obedient. Therefore GOD will provide a ram. Could He also re-direct him?
Governor Huckabee, I want to lay you on the alter before the LORD. I pray that only GOD's express will and plan comes forth and from it you, Janet, your family (and that cute little grandson) and our entire nation is blessed by His sovereign will. I am praying that you will continue to always be the mirror that reflects the light.
We all pray that we would have GOD's desires, attitudes and direction. The LORD said, "When you commit your life to Me, I will give you the desires of My heart." Many of us have an earnest and deep desire that we would have you Governor Huckabee, an Ambassador of CHRIST, a true advocate of freedom for the American people, as the president of the United States in 2012. We have prayed earnestly that we have the desires of the LORD's heart. We have asked, "LORD take this desire from us if it isn't from You." It is still burning strong in our hearts. Therefore, We are praying if GOD wills it, that He would open the door and direct you to get into this race for 2012!
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
I believe now is the season for Mike!

GOD never gives us anything but IMPOSSIBLE tasks because then we have to depend on Him to accomplish them!! When we put CHRIST into the word IMPOSSIBLE it becomes
I M POSSIBLE!
I can do all things through CHRIST who strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13
Whatever GOD's plan is for you, Governor Huckabee, we thank GOD for your willingness to be a testimony of our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST and we ask for abundant and overflowing blessing of every kind upon you and your whole family.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes of yours (believe me it was hard just to pick these out of all that I have! :) )
"If your life is invested in something eternal, then nobody can steal that. …That is why following JESUS makes a whole lot of more sense than living your whole life just to be rich or to be famous. Those things are fleeting but JESUS is not; it is the only thing worth living for.”
“Following JESUS doesn't mean I'm following Him to the White House, or I'm following Him to the governor mansion, or I'm following Him to television, no I'm following Him to be with Him! And then where ever He puts me and places me, my real job is not to be the governor or the president or a television personality, my job is to somehow be that person GOD has created me to be and to have influence on the world where he has placed me; doesn't matter where that is."
"I would consider it the highest honor of my life, if you would give me the opportunity not to rule, but to serve."
"Don't ever let expediency or electability replace our principles."
"Worthwhile battles in the political arena are not for the easily discouraged or the faint of heart."
“Great things are rarely easy things. They are most often risky things, with just as much a chance for failure as success.”
Thanks again Governor Huckabee and to your wife Janet and your family. We shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace and the mountains and the hills will break forth with singing!
